Join our team of dedicated professionals! The Center for Workforce Research and Information manages the programs that provide the most important economic information about conditions in Maine. These programs inform the public about employment, unemployment, and wages for the state and local areas.

This position collects, reviews, and classifies data provided by employers for the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, which is the foundation for labor and other economic statistics in the U.S. The work entails coding employer accounts through internet research about the nature of a business, as well as email and phone contact to clarify information that has been provided. Attention to detail and working collaboratively with a team are important to success.

Primary Duties: 

  • Collecting, editing, and reviewing data for accuracy and completeness
  • Researching the nature of business to code them to the appropriate industry

A four (4) year combination of education, training, and/or experience involving the collection, organization, analysis and/or presentation of statistical data.

Preference may be given to candidates with knowledge of, experience and/or coursework in the following: statistical analysis, data visualization tools and techniques (Tableau, Power BI), structured query language (SQL), hypertext markup language (HTML), survey research.
