JOB DESCRIPTION

***This position is located in HINCKLEY***

This is professional counseling and service work involving the provision of rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities. Work includes counseling persons with disabilities in selecting, preparing for, and following a rehabilitation program leading to employment. Duties include interviewing and determining eligibility for services, and developing and implementing client programs. This position is located in the Hinckley office and work is performed in the Somerset County area, providing services primarily to adults.

 REPRESENTATIVE TASKS:

  • Establishing a counseling relationship and partnership with consumers.
  • Evaluating and interpreting medical and psychological information, assessing client needs and available resources to develop and implement a comprehensive rehabilitation plan leading to employment.
  • Will contact business and industry groups, advocate for clients, and offer incentives and assistance to place clients in jobs.
  • Manages a budget to ensure that services purchased are necessary and cost-effective.
  • Will facilitate workshops addressing career exploration needs; to educate on available rehabilitation technology, ADA, self-advocacy, and increase work readiness of attendees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATONS:

A bachelor’s degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation and 2 years of experience demonstrating  knowledges and abilities in assisting individuals with disabilities, employers and other stakeholders with their employment and workforce needs.
