These positions are located in the Greater Portland Career Center at 151 Jetport Blvd, Portland and provide vocational rehabilitation services to adults with mental health, intellectual and physical disabilities.

 Work includes counseling persons with disabilities in selecting, preparing for, and following a rehabilitation program leading to competitive, integrated employment. Typical duties include determining eligibility for rehabilitation services, assisting clients with developing an employment goal, and supporting individuals with disabilities in a vocational program leading to an employment outcome. 

 These positions require:

  • frequent local and occasional statewide travel

 Duties include:

  • Establishing a counseling relationship and partnership with consumers.
  • Evaluating and interpreting medical and psychological information, then assessing client needs and

       available resources to develop and implement a comprehensive rehabilitation plan leading to employment.

  • Coordinating training, treatment, counseling, job coaching, and related rehabilitation programs in order to assist clients.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation using AWARE computer-based client data system.
  • Contacting business and industry groups, advocating for clients, and offering incentives and

assistance to place clients in jobs.

  • Managing a budget to ensure that services purchased are necessary and cost-effective.

 The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of

  • rehabilitation services,
  • disabilities and how they impact vocational adjustment,
  • the current, local labor market
  • strategies to develop working relationships with clients, community partners and businesses
  • strategies to effectively manage a large caseload and caseload budget

 QUALIFICATIONS:

A six-year combination of training, experience and/or education providing knowledges and abilities relating to vocational rehabilitation placement.

Preference will be given to applicants with extensive, direct experience supporting individuals with mental health disorders, C.R.C., and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or closely related field.
