JOB DESCRIPTION

This is structure and craft work of a supervisory nature, overseeing the development and delivery of construction contracts in M&O’s Contracts unit.  Duties shall include, but are not limited to:  supervising a Contract Grant Specialist, coaching and mentoring region contract personnel, researching and developing construction technical specifications, researching and developing equipment specifications, developing contract work requirements, assisting the M&O Contracts Engineer with establishing statewide contracting policies, and ensuring contract compliance with federal and state laws and all other applicable rules and policies.  This position will also be a part of the M&O Duty Officer rotation, which is a critical component of MaineDOT’s 24/7/365 emergency response Preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience with highway and/or bridge construction, technical specification writing, and overseeing M&O’s emergency incident response.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A four (4) year combination of training, experience, and/or education in highway maintenance and/or construction. 1 year minimum supervisory experience is required.
