The Maine Department of Marine Resources is seeking qualified candidates for a Resource Management Coordinator position. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: This is professional services work managing and coordinating marine resource management programs. The positions will serve as a project manager for marine fisheries and land-based aquaculture programs.  The position will represent the Department in public forums, administer permitting programs, conduct outreach, and assist in development of pertinent laws and regulations.  Responsibilities include developing, implementing, analyzing and managing programs for effective utilization and management of both natural resources and agency resources.  The position will also have responsibilities for specific state fisheries management needs. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires background combination of education and/or experience demonstrating technical expertise in natural resource program management or position specific expertise.

 

Preferred Qualifications for these positions include a minimum of two years direct experience or extensive knowledge of Maine’s commercial fisheries, aquaculture industry, and/or diadromous species; natural resources permitting; and/or risk assessment expertise.

 

Additional experience we are looking for: strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated analytical and technical writing skills, program management skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, ability to successfully convey scientific information to non-scientific audiences, experience conducting meetings and building consensus, experience dealing with contentious issues, ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, computer skills, and willingness to travel.

Value of State’s share of Employee’s Retirement: 14.47% of pay, Employee Pays: 7.65% of pay
Value of State-paid Dental Insurance:  $14.31 biweekly

Value of State-paid Health Insurance*:

Level 1:  100% State Contribution = $461.75 biweekly (employee pays nothing)
Level 2:  95% State Contribution = $438.66 biweekly (Employee pays: 5%)

Level 3:  90% State Contribution = $415.58 biweekly (Employee pays: 10%)
Level 4:  85% State Contribution = $392.49 biweekly (Employee pays: 15%)


*The level of actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on employee’s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program.
