Agency information:

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) provides supportive, preventive, protective, public health and intervention services that safeguard the public health and assist our customers in meeting their needs.  The Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHS) within DHHS is responsible for providing leadership and active partnership in Maine’s comprehensive system of support to communities and individuals with substance use and mental health conditions across the prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery system and across the lifespan through a network of community providers.  This position is located in our Augusta office.

Job duties:

 As a Data Analyst you will be responsible for compiling, cleaning, analyzing, and maintaining data in multiple information systems utilized by SAMHS.  You will also be responsible for data validation and visualization, fulfilling and responding to data requests from a variety of stakeholders, and running reports using statistical software.  You will ensure that data is provided for program planning, federal reporting, contract monitoring, and technical assistance.  You will assist program staff with designing and developing information collection and reporting systems and provide training and assistance to program staff and providers on translating their needs into electronic information systems.  You may create and/or present reports and/or presentations to various stakeholders and collaborate on projects with other State offices or providers.  This role may include supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 In order to qualify, you must have an eight (8) year combination of education and/or professional experience in data analytics.  Experience with Web Infrastructure for Treatment Services (WITS), Enterprise Information Systems (EIS), or advanced statistical software such as COGNOS and Sequel Server Reporting Services (SSRS) preferred.

Value of State-paid Health Insurance*:

Level 1:  100% State Contribution = $461.75 biweekly (employee pays nothing)
Level 2:  95% State Contribution = $438.66 biweekly (Employee pays: 5%)
Level 3:  90% State Contribution = $415.58 biweekly (Employee pays: 10%)
Level 4:  85% State Contribution = $392.49 biweekly (Employee pays: 15%)
*The level of actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on employee’s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program as of July 1, 2019.
