MaineDOT is seeking entry-level civil engineering candidates to fill a variety of positions in the Bureau of Project Development. These positions are in the Bureau’s Highway and Bridge Programs and the Materials Testing and Exploration team. Successful candidates will be responsible for engineering tasks relative to public works projects including construction inspection, bridge design, geotechnical design, highway design, asphalt materials testing and hydrology and hydraulics depending on the assigned position. Work is performed in a team environment under the supervision of experienced technical staff.

Materials and Testing - Bangor 


A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related field –OR- non-engineering college graduates and non-degreed candidates must possess a Certification of Engineer-Intern as issued by the State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.

Level 1:  100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing):  $461.75 biweekly

Level 2:  95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%):  $438.66 biweekly

Level 3:  90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%):  $415.58 biweekly

Level 4:  85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%):  $392.49 biweekly
