SALARY RANGE:   24 - $56,992.00 - $77,646.40/yr. (salary includes 16% and .60 market pay adjustment)

 

BENEFITS:  Value of State’s share of Employee’s Retirement: 19.49% of pay

         Value of State-paid Dental Insurance:  $14.31 biweekly

         Value* of State-paid Health Insurance:

              Level 1:  100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing):  $461.75 biweekly

              Level 2:  95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%):    $438.66 biweekly

              Level 3:  90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%):  $415.58 biweekly

              Level 4:  85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%):  $392.49 biweekly

*The level of the actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on the employee’s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program as of July 1, 2019.

LOCATION OF POSITION:  

Section 1– Division I --- This section covers areas from Yarmouth to Kittery, the assignment will require living within the confines of Section 1, (Yarmouth to Kittery).

 

DESCRIPTION:  This is investigative and protective services work of a supervisory nature involving the enforcement of marine resource conservation laws and other laws within the jurisdiction of the Maine Marine Patrol. Responsibilities include directing, overseeing, and evaluating Marine Patrol Officers in an assigned geographic area or specialized Marine Patrol activity. Work includes supervising subordinate personnel, organizing and directing search and rescue operations, overseeing or conducting investigations of complex cases and serious incidents, promoting departmental goals, reviewing and preparing reports, and training Marine Patrol personnel.  Work also includes investigating complaints and incidents; enforcing motor vehicle and other laws; and providing services and support to the homeless, mentally ill, addicts, victims of domestic abuse, hate crimes, abusive parents, and the public.  Work is performed under limited supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Any combination of service as a Marine Patrol Officer and/or Specialist totaling four (4) years.
