DESCRIPTION:

The Department of the Secretary of State, Bureau of Motor Vehicles is seeking candidates for a full time Customer Representative Associate II-MV for the Kennebunk Branch. The successful candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills and experience with point of sale transactions.  This position provides office and administrative support work with a regulatory or eligibility component in assisting the public with applications, fees, and/or examinations related to motor vehicle registration and/or drivers licenses.  Statewide travel is required.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Code, compute, verify, post, reconcile, and/or update standard documents and financial transactions.
  • Present routine factual information to individuals/groups.
  • Assist customers with motor vehicle and/or voter registrations.
  • Administer driver licensing written and vision tests in accordance with set procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to make intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to verify, code, computer and/or reconcile data on standard documents.
  • Ability to read, understand, and explain charts and guides.
  • Ability to assist customers and providers with reporting, elegibility, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to apply routine individual cases an explanation and interpretation of applicable rules, regulations, policies, procedures, codes and/or documentation requirements.
  • Ability to effectively present routine factual information to individuals/groups.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to qualify, you must have training, education, and/or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of the principles and practices of quality customer service to perform complex work in assisting the public with applications, fees, and/or examinations that have an eligibility or compliance component; and 2) the ability to use independent decision making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures. In addition, the successful candidate must pass a National Criminal Background check, including fingerprinting.

Value of State-paid Dental Insurance:  $13.13 biweekly

Value* of State-paid Health Insurance:

  • Level 1:  100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing):  $444.68 biweekly
  • Level 2:  95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%):  $422.45 biweekly
  • Level 3:  90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%):  $400.21 biweekly
  • Level 4:  85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%):  $377.98 biweekly 
  • Value of State’s share of Employee’s Retirement:  15.37 % of pay.
  • *The level of the actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on the employee’s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program as of July 1, 2018.
