JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will serve as the Public Health Nursing Operations Team Leader for the Public Health Nursing Program. The PHN Operations Team Leader manages all operations for the program. This includes central referral processes, contracts, and facility logistics for a regional workforce, and budget monitoring. You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, implementing, administering, and evaluating PHN programs which address preventive health measures and specific health problems. This position also supervises support staff to carry out the operations of the program.

You will also:
• Develop and write program and PHN policies, goals, objectives, and standards in order to explain the program and establish operational parameters.
• Design, implement, and evaluate quality assurance programs in order to ensure program goals, objectives, and standards are met.
• Analyze results and write reports in order to document progress toward program objectives.
• Consult with nursing and related health providers including direct care consultation in order to ensure program understanding.
• Develop and implement program improvement plans in order to maintain program currency and effectiveness.
• Develop and implement study projects on the quality of medical and nursing services in order to ensure established service standards are met.
• Develop and monitor budgets and monitor program expenditures in order to recommend or assess budgetary needs.
• Be an active member of the PHN Management Team and assist the PHN Director to carry out management functions, including supervision of office support staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Four (4) years of Public/Community/Maternal and Child Health Nursing in a staff supervisory, or consultant capacity and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – OR – an acceptable equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates possessing a Master’s Degree with specialization in Public/Community/Maternal and Child Health Nursing.

Must be license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.
